Traumatic Brain Injuries & Aging

An overview of neuropathology of TBI and aging with a particular focus on the increased risks of dementia in the TBI population. We will discuss the subtypes of dementia and that all dementias share common features.

These features are also evident in TBI. We will review common psychiatric co-morbidities in TBI, rehabilitation issues, and risk management in this population as they age. Finally, we will discuss current and future trends in treatment for this vulnerable population.
