At Life Skills Village, we believe in the power of community and the impact it can have on mental health and rehabilitation. Our team is dedicated to providing innovative and effective therapies that go beyond traditional approaches. We are excited to introduce our Vocational Therapy Department's unique initiative as part of our holistic occupational therapy program – the Winter Clothing Drive!
About the Winter Clothing Drive:
Winter can be tough for many individuals and families, and we understand the importance of staying warm during the colder months. That's why we're launching our Winter Clothing Drive, an opportunity for you to make a meaningful contribution to your community while supporting the vital work we do at Life Skills Village. The contributions will be donated to the community of Oak Park, including homeless shelters, schools, as well as the Salvation Army.
How It Works
Starting from Friday, September 29th, and running through to Friday, March 15th, we invite you to participate in our Winter Clothing Drive. We're collecting a variety of winter essentials, including:
- Beanies
- Gloves
- Boots
- Shoes
- Hoodies
- Socks
- Coats
- Jackets
Plus, any other winter gear you'd like to donate. We want our community to stay nice and warm and clean so please make sure the donations are washed or close to new when you donate please!
Schedule a Pickup:
Scheduling a pickup for your winter clothing donations is easy! We've made it convenient for you by offering pickups on the last Friday of every month, apart from holidays (please see the event scheduler for details). Pick Up times will be between 12 pm and 2 pm. Our dedicated team will arrive at your location and collect the donated items. This streamlined process ensures your contributions directly benefit those in need. Pick up
Gather Your Donations: Take a look in your closet and gather any gently used winter clothing items you're willing to part with. Remember, even small contributions can make a big difference.
Schedule a Pickup: Fill out our simple scheduling form to select a Friday between September 29th and March 15th for the pickup. Let us know your preferred time within the 12 pm to 2 pm window.
Prepare for Pickup: On your chosen Friday, make sure your donations are ready for pickup. Our team will be there to collect them and ensure they reach those in need.
